So the news for the Royal Wedding has been slowing down now that the date is getting closer, but there are still some items to update on... One is that tea towels are now on the list of royal merchandise to be sold for memorabilia. This was not the case about a month ago, Buckingham Palace did not believe that tea towels were not "significant and permanent," but they have had a change of heart. Though the towels are back on the list, they are not going to look like the tea towels have in the past, instead of having the outline of the royal couple, they are just going to have their initials embroidered on the towels.
Something else that has been in the news lately is that Prince William and Kate have requested that they not receive gifts for their wedding. With the exception of close family and friends they are requesting that money be donated by the attendees to chartities that they have chosen. This still has to be approved by the appropriate people, but I for one think that it is a great idea. The beautiful couple has said that have everything that they need, so instead of gifts, they want to give to others.
As of January 19, 2011 there were 100 days until the couple says their "I do's", to some that may seem like a long time, but to the people coordinating and planning the event it is a very short time to make sure that everything is order. Planning an event of this magnatude is going to be stressful, there are so many people that you must go through to get the job done. From approval of the Queen and Buckinghma Palace and then what the couple who is actually getting married wants can get complicated. Being an event planner involved in this wedding is for sure an experience of a life time, it is the dream of event planners everywhere.
